Gas utilities are introducing new technology to ensure that city gas is supplied safely and reliably. In line with growing demand, the production is being streamlined and supply systems are being upgraded and strengthened.

LNG (liquefied natural gas) has a gasification efficiency of 100% and produces about twice the amount of heat as manufactured gas during combustion. Using natural gas also allows a twofold increase in the efficiency of existing gas pipelines. All this means that less investment is needed for plant and distribution facilities.

To keep up with increased future demand and to maintain safety, trunk line and pipeline networks are also being improved.
